We were so happy to host a new Wildflowers workshop and a pamper party for 31 girls in foster care at the Inspiring Hope April camp! You can read about Inspiring Hope's amazing work here.

I explained to the girls that the name Wildflowers comes from the Bible verse Luke 12:27-28 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you ...". I encouraged the girls to reflect on what makes them happy and special, and what they hope for their futures, and to pray about these things because God treasures each of them.

The workshop was an open-ended creative arts activity where the girls were invited to create collages. The girls chose pictures from magazines, postcards with faith-based messages, and colouring-in pages with bible verses and then decorated with stickers and markers. It was wonderful to see how enthusiastic the girls were to explore these resources and make unique artworks.

Morgan, and her daughter Kaileigh, also gave a lovely talk for the girls about the gospel while they created their artworks! You can read more about Morgan’s counselling work at Hallelujah Ministries here.

After the creative arts workshop, it was time for a pamper party! The girls loved having face masks, painting nails, press-on nails and hair styling. It was delightful to see the girls smiling, laughing and bonding. I was on hair curling duty, Morgan was braiding and Kaileigh was painting nails.

We listened to a Wildflowers playlist including our favourite artists like Anne Wilson, Forrest Frank and Josiah Queen. You can listen to this playlist on Spotify here.

Wildflowers also gifted each camper a pamper pack filled with a mix of essential toiletries and fun pamper items, and a mini gospel book.
